Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium also known as Kaloor Stadium , it’s a multipurpose international stadium. The stadium has a capacity of 60,500 spectators making it one of the largest stadiums in India. The stadium was built in 1996 by the Government of Kerala with Greater Cochin Development Authority.
This stadium is generally hyped as one of the noisiest cricket stadium in the world due to its typical structural design.
The unique structured lighting towers which carry 2kw floodlights which provide lighting levels for HD telecast.
The stadium acts as the home ground for teams including Kerala Cricket Team, Kerala Blasters FC (Indian Super League) and as Kochi is selected as one of the six host cities for 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup that has to be held in India, stadium venues for matches in Kochi.
