We visited Kerala in the second week of June with 2 of our families and felt this is the best place for nature lovers. We were searching for a good tour operator and we get Yatramantra by suggestion of our friend. While planning we found Yatramantra is perfect and they give us well organized trip. I finally got my very own customized Kerala 6 Nights 7 Days Package and was now all set for a vacation that would take me to the waterfalls, hills, backwaters and gardens. The hotel selection and cab was excellent. A Special thanks to driver for helping us as we were not aware of the local language and culture.
Places : Munnar, Thekkady, Alleppey,Kovalam
Day 1 & 2: Munnar – Scenic Munnar
Our first day in Kerala started with a warm greetings from the representative of Yatramantra in airport. Kerala is one of the best travel destinations in India that has a lot to offer to a traveller on each visit. The land would never cease to surprise you with its spectacular views and unique experiences.
Up on our arrival we were greeted by our driver plus guide for the journey and after a few refreshments, we quickly proceeded for our first destination, Munnar.
We had experienced the beautiful sightseeing which included waterfalls, elephant rides and fantastic views of the mountains, tea gardens, and more on our way to Munnar. Echo Point munnar has very scenic views.
One of the touristy places we visited was Echo point. There were hordes of tourists and also locals lined up here during our visit. One of the things we did most during our stay was drive around to the scenic area of Mattupetty and then walk around the Mattupetty Lake & Dam.
Our stay was at Tea Country on the first day in Munnar.
We enjoyed the trekking and the new views give us more pleasure. Jeep ride was really nice.
Day 3: Thekkady – Beauty of Wild Life
Thekkady is famous for the wildlife sanctuary located here. Their is boating facility at Thekkady and the boat take us around the Wildlife Sanctuary through the Periyar Lake. We saw some wild animals during boat ride but need to be very quiet. We saw Mullapperiyar dam also during this boat ride.
Thekkady is also called Periyar and sometimes known as Kumily too. Thekkady is where Wildlife Sanctuary is located; both Thekkady and Kumily are just 2-3 km apart.
In Thekkady our stay was at Mountain Courtyard and it was a lovely scenic hotel with wonderful staff and services. I recommend Tree top to all travellers. It is one of our best stays.
Day 4: Alleppey – Alluring Backwaters
After breakfast we drive to Alleppey, check-in to houseboat at 1pm noon.It was like roads were replaced by waters and everything that you generally find on roads including street shops, were found in the waters here.
House boat gives us luxury backwater cruise which gives a perfect watch of paddy fields, coconut lagoons, narrow canals and even you will get a chance to see the excellent views of sea merging with lake, accompanied by traditional Kerala delicacies.
Day 5 & 6: Kovalam – Beauty of Blue waves
Enjoyed the beauty of beach and we spend more time in beach and near by shops. The views from the light house is mind blowing.
Day 7: Trivandrum – Good Bye Kerala
Our last day in Kerala. Feels very sad to go back from this green land. We really wish to come again to taste the best foods and arts and ayurveda of Kerala. After breakfast we leave Kerala with a lot of wonderful memories. Thanks for the whole team of Yatramantra for making our journey memorable. We are waiting for the next Kerala Tour Packages to explore our next trip in the gods own country.
