Beautiful Kerala –A Visual Treat

According to Hindu myths Kerala was retrieved from the sea by Parasurama, a warrior sage. The legend has it that Parasurama, an incarnation of Maha Vishnu threw his battle axe from Kanyakumari to northward across the ocean. As a result of the throw, the land of Kerala emerged and thus was reclaimed from the waters.

May be the story too had influenced Mr Walter in coining the tag line as Kerala got a mesmerizing tag line containing three simple words: God’s Own Country! He attested Kerala beautifully giving her a fresh, fragrant and vibrant life on the travel and tourism sector.

Yes, Kerala is truly amazing with its Beaches, Backwaters, Mountain Ranges and Wildlife Sanctuaries.

The literary meaning of Kerala is “the land of coconuts”. As Kerala is abundant with coconut trees, it naturally got the name Kerala. In reality, one of the reasons for Kerala’s enchanting beauty is its rich presence of coconut grooves. Kerala is a conventional destination for both domestic as well as foreign tourists.

Kerala is an exotic location as no extreme climate here to disturb one’s being. Well educated and cultured people are Kerala’s real asset. The most disturbing factor while one travels to a region beyond his boundary is communication. Here no such worry stare at the visitor as a good number of people here follow English well. Also, they behave friendly and helpful too.

Popular attractions in the state include the Beaches at Kovalam, Kappad, Cherai and Varkala; Backwater Tourism at Alleppey and lake resorts around Vembanad Lake Kumarakom and Ashtamudi Lake, Kollam

Heritage sites, such as the Padmanabhapuram Palace, Hill Palace, and Mattancherry Palace and colonial charms of Fort Kochi are also famous place of visits.

As the tagline was so catchy, the travel people easily developed a love to see the land and they were certainly not dissatisfied while returning as the state has such magnificent and splendid attractions beyond one’s imagination making them say Kerala really a visual treat!
