The monastery was established by His Holiness Drubwang Padma Norbu Rinpoche in 1963. The architecture of this temple is pretty different from the ones generally found all over India. An 18 m high idol of Lord Buddha gilded in gold presides over the monastery. 2. Bhagamandala- A Sacred Site in Coorg at the Confluence of Three Rivers:

A famous pilgrimage place in Coorg region of Karnataka, Bhagamandala is situated on the confluence of the river Cauvery (or Kaveri) and its two tributaries, the Kanneki and the Sujyothi (which is believed to be mythical).
