Church of St. John the Baptist
It is one of the most famous churches in the entire state of Goa which is situated on a hill beyond the Benaulim town. It was originally built near the shore and was shifted to this present location in 1956.
The church features low domes, four storey towers and rococo. The main altar inside the church has a plain panelling and gallery in cornice design. Father Joseph Vas, who was born in Benaulim, was baptised in this chapel.
It is located to the north of the famous Colva beach. This beach has a numerous pine trees along the shoreline.
It is known for its clean sands and beautiful surroundings. Tourists who prefer quieter beaches often choose Betalbatim.
Betalbatim is almost deserted bank for the few shacks.
